In 2018, Victoria Trading set a goal to make the entire range of nuts and dried fruit more sustainable. The members consciously choose to make a substantial joint investment in this. However, talks with existing suppliers revealed there was hardly any interest in this on the supply side, and it emerged that the availability of a fully sustainable range throughout the year would be a major challenge.

However, Victoria Trading succeeded. In collaboration with specialised supplier GreenAge, the entire range of nuts and dried fruit was converted into a fully EKO-certified, organic and sustainable range. To this end, the members of Victoria Trading have drastically rationalised their range in order to arrive at a manageable product range in which the purchasing volumes are bundled per product.

With this challenge, Victoria Trading has collaborated with a supplier that is still relatively new in the foodservice market but has been fully committed to sustainability for many years, with respect for nature, animals, and people. In 2019, together with GreenAge, we will continue to look at sustainability in other ranges such as cereals (quinoa, bulgur, etc.).

“The transparent way of working together has given both parties the confidence to invest in one another.”
